Michelle is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 6 years of experience since graduating from a Maters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney. She as a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology and has won awards for her research and academic achievements.
Her clinical experience is mainly with individual adults. Primarily her experience has been a private practice setting where she has seen clients for a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues and self esteem. She has also worked in a public hospital in oncology and in a psychiatric hospital, as well as a private pain management clinic. She is currently completing her PhD at the University of Sydney and is conducting research in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
ACT is therapy, supported by research, that utilises acceptance and mindfulness to improve psychological well being and help people live more fully in the present. This type of therapy involves identifying values and obstacles that prevent individuals from living lives that accurately reflect their core values.
