Stephanie Römer is a Clinical Psychology Registrar and researcher who works with adolescents (13+), young people, and young adults, offering a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space for therapy.
Stephanie completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong, where her research explores the neurobiological and psychological aspects of food addiction. She brings a strong integration of research and clinical practice, using evidence-based approaches to support meaningful and lasting change.
Her academic background includes a Master’s in Neuropsychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, providing her with a deep understanding of both brain-based processes and emotional wellbeing.
Stephanie has experience working across a variety of settings, including eating disorder services, forensic mental health, private practice, and online therapy platforms. She supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, emotion regulation difficulties, interpersonal challenges, and eating disorders, while also working more broadly across mental health concerns.
Her therapeutic approach is flexible and tailored to each individual. Stephanie integrates a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT-E for eating disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Maudsley Family-Based Therapy (MFBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Alongside her clinical work, Stephanie is an Associate Research Fellow with Project Air Strategy, contributing to the development of interventions for young people with complex mental health needs. She also serves as Student President of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (2024–2026), reflecting her ongoing commitment to the field.
Stephanie is passionate about creating a supportive and respectful environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. She offers therapy in English, German, and Dutch, and brings a thoughtful, culturally aware perspective to her work.
