About

Rachel Kur is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of experience in private practice. She joined Gymea Lily Psychotherapy Centre in 2010 and now offers Telehealth appointments, providing flexible and accessible psychological support.

Rachel provides psychodynamic therapy, with a warm, thoughtful, and deeply experienced approach to therapy. She values creating a safe and respectful space where clients can explore their inner world, relationships, and life challenges at their own pace. While her foundation is in long-term psychoanalytic work, she also offers short-term psychodynamic and supportive therapy depending on each person’s needs.

Rachel originally qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in South Africa, where she ran a successful private practice before relocating to Sydney. Across her career, she has worked with people from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, supporting both psychiatric and psychological presentations.

She has extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, personality disorders, adjustment difficulties, grief and bereavement, and complex life transitions. Rachel also works with individuals experiencing relationship challenges, domestic violence, and workplace difficulties, offering thoughtful and sensitive support.

Rachel has a particular interest in attachment and relationship dynamics, and has undertaken further training in these areas, along with advanced study in personality and the development of the self. She has also been involved in parenting work and has delivered public talks.

Rachel brings a depth of experience, insight, and care to her work, and is valued for her ability to build long-term therapeutic relationships that support meaningful and lasting change.
